Counseling is part of a pastor’s job description. As a shepherd, his duties include feeding, protecting, and caring for those in his ministry. Just as a shepherd to his sheep that are sick or injured, a pastor tends to the emotional wounds suffered by those in his flock. Pastoral counseling is unique, as it is biblical counseling.
Visitation is an essential aspect of ministry be it in the home, hospital, care facility, or public space. Individual contact with a pastor makes an impact whether it is casual conversation or a specific need has arisen. For the homebound a visit may be the only church contact someone has and it is an opportunity for them to receive Holy Communion.
Pastoral care and guidance is available for the significant events in our lives. Weddings, renewal of vows and Holy Baptism are offered with spiritual counseling. For hospice, immanent death, and bereavement the pastor is available at all times. A Service of Commendation of the Dying is available for the dying and their family. The pastor is also available to officiate for funeral and committal services.
Caring for the whole person is the goal of every ministry. To help you physically care for others American Red Cross Certification is offered in various First Aid, CPR, AED courses. Special certification for Wilderness & Remote First Aid, Asthma, Epi Pens, Naloxone, and Blood Borne Pathogens is also offered.
The practice of Individual Confession & Absolution as a precious gift of God for Baptized Christians.
