Church Events & Activities

"The Chosen" Bible Study will meet the 2nd and 4th Wednesdays & Thursdays of each month. Wednesdays at 12:00noon and Thursdays at 6:00pm we watch episodes of The Chosen and work through the Bible Study books that accompany the series. 

On March 5th, 2025 will have our Ash Wednesday Service with the Imposition of Ashes and Holy Communion. The service will begin at 7:15pm.

Our mid-week Lenten meals of soup and bread will be on Wednesday evenings at 6:00pm. The Evening Prayer service will be after the meal.

Our mid-week Lenten services will be Holden Evening Prayer, a short service. The service will begin at 7:15pm.

On May 4, 2025 we are having a Hymn Sing in the sanctuary followed by an Ice Cream Social in the Memorial Hall. The Hymn Sing will begin at 7:00pm. Free to all.

Bethany will be hosting our annual Chicken & Biscuit Dinner on Saturday January 25th, 2025 from 4:00 PM to 7:00PM. We will be accepting free will offerings.

Our Christmas Eve Candlelight Service begins with special music at 6:30pm and at 7:00pm the worship service begins. Come and join us as we celebrate the Nativity of Our Lord!

The Cookie Crawl is hosted by The Robins Nest & Co. Sixteen local businesses are participating. Bags for the Cookie Crawl purchased at The Robins Nest & Co. will include a list of participating businesses. The purchase price is $20.00 per bah and proceeds will benefit Harvest of Hope. The Store is located at 368 Broad Street, Montoursville and hours of operation are Tue., Wed., Thu., Fri., 11a-5p, & Sat. 10a-3p.

Bethany Lutheran will be participating 12/13 10a-4p & 12/14 10a-2p.

Join us for a fundraising night at Hoss’s Steak & Sea House between 3:30p-9:00p on the Golden Strip, 1954 E 3rd St, Williamsport, PA 17701. Make sure to take your flyer/card along and tell your server you are there for the fundraiser. The more people that participate, the larger our percentage (20%-25%) of the checks will be.

Trick or Treat at Bethany Lutheran from 6p-8p on Halloween. We will have freshly made doughnuts, coffee, hot chocolate, and treats. Children and adults are both welcome to visit and get a warm doughnut and a hot drink.

Join us for a fundraising night at Texas Roadhouse between 3:30p-9:00p on the Golden Strip, 1940 E 3rd St, Williamsport, PA 17701. Make sure to take your flyer along and tell your server you are there for the fundraiser. 

A Church Picnic at Indian Park will be held on August 25th at 4:00 pm. We will have Vespers, food, and games! 

First Aid, CPR, and AED: Do you want to be Red Cross certified in First Aid, CPR, and AED? Sign up sheets are outside the church office for Friday August 9th and Saturday August 10th. Choose a class and get prepared to be the best first responder in an emergency! 

Our VBS theme this year is Camp Firelight. To register children for VBS please call or email the church.

Crosscutters Outing will be on July 19th with the game starting at 6:35 p.m. There will be a sign up closer to that date outside the office.

Kayaking at Ricketts Glenn State Park on Lake Jean will be held July 13th. A sign-up sheet is on the bulletin board outside the office for all who would like to join us. If we do not have enough kayaks available from members, they can be rented from the boat rental concession. 

Mini Golf and Supper at Hoopla's Family Fun Center. We will meet at 4:00. A sign up sheet is outside the office.

Summer Watch Parties will meet the 2nd and 4th Thursdays of each month at 6:00pm to watch episodes of The Chosen. This is in preparation for our Bible Studies when they start up again in September. 

We are hosting a yard sale in conjunction with the Montoursville Community Yard Sales. We will begin at 8:00am and go until 3:00pm. 

Donations can be placed on the stage in the memorial hall. Please sign up to help with set-up, the sale, and tear-down on the sheet outside the office.

The Women of Bethany are having a Spring Banquet at 6pm on Thursday, April 18, 2024. 

Lou Ann and Kuuipo Tom will present a program on Hawaii with a delicious Hawaiian meal.

On February 10th, 2024 Bethany will be having a soup sale. This year the soup will be Broccoli Cheese Soup. The cost is $8.00 a quart. You can sign up for the presale on the sheet outside the office. You can also call or email the office to be sign up for the presale. Soup can be picked up the day of the sale 10:00am – 12:00pm. 

Bethany will be hosting an Open House and Dinner on Saturday January 27th, 2024 from 4:00 PM to 7:00PM, to be held in Memorial Hall. Exhibits of church history will be on display as well as tours of the church will be given.
